Lagoe's Basic Guide For Beginners
Well, you just downloaded the game. For the purpose of this guide, I won't be highlighting simple things such as controls. But rather how to quickly get a moderately competitive battleship very quickly.
1. The Very Start
Okay, so first type in the Mikasa cheat. If you don't know how to use it, it should be pretty easy to find online. Delete "My First Battleship" and transfer any additional weapons to Mikasa. Mikasa is a very good ship to start off using, but certainly has it's limits.
2. Making Easy Money With Basic Ships
Now start doing the first levels of drills, preferably duel level 6 or 7. Use the money earned here to either buy an armored skeleton (400mm or 600mm preferably) or make your own. But as you've been playing for just over an hour or so, and arn't experienced, just buy a template. Also, during this time, feel free to do other levels or some online battling, but it's not nessesary, altough badges are useful.
3. Minor Changes To Your Third Ship
It's time to take the big leap. But first, before you do any of that stuff, please note this: this is not for even slightly realistic ships. There is to be no bridge or fancy decorations. So, anyway, remove the ballasts at the bottom and replace them with either 400mm/600mm lightweight armor or the standard 600mm armor if you really care about stability.
4. Adding Weapons To Your Third Ship
So, what weapons do you put on your ship? First, put the 12"+ guns on, along with any 8" guns you have, but don't bother with smaller weapons. You have two choices now, and both are very big leaps. Either buy a MK45 5" gun to farm duel level 9, or purchase a twin 16" gun to generally power up your ship.
5. More Guns And Better Guns
So, keep farming whatever duels between levels 6 and 9 and keep doing this until you have about 6 or 7 MK45 5" guns and 16" twins altogether. Now, I'm afraid I can't assist you much anymore. Make your own ships, experiment, get more money, try subs and aircraft carriers, but most importantly, have fun!
