Extra Gems and money

When ever a video ad or some advertising shows up, just enter it and exit out and you will get a message saying that you have earned some extra gems. to get money you have to re do a battle that you have passed and fast forward it 3 times and you will get 3 times as many gold you earned in the battle.

Warehouses

The most important thing that any beginning player can do is save all their gems for warehouses. The right amount of warehouses is 4 lvl 2 warehouses. That way when you go to bed you can wake up and have not lost any time collecting resources.

Tactics and battle game play

Someone asked me for tips on how to not get destroyed on the battlefield. He already made it through quite a bit of the game, but needed help on the details because he was frequently losing many/all of his units. Hopefully, how I answered might help someone on here... Now I just hope I put it in the right place!

Not all of these will apply to every reader.

First and foremost: if all you had at your disposal is peasants then it may be obvious that a large army of peasants will defeat a smaller army of peasants. One can make an army larger by upgrading the Town Center. Every upgrade to the Town Center increases your army capacity.

That won't get you far if you don't assign positions, though. Efficiency is key on the battlefield.

Second, you wouldn't want your weak bowmen on the front line (in this game). A larger army would destroy your archers fairly quickly. So unit type placement is important. First of all, get the strongest melee fighters for the front line. After that, find out the range of EACH of your units and stack them according to range! If you currently only employ one or two types, you may thank me later. For instance, I originally thought berzerkers where front-liners and replaced as much of my front line with them as I could, but when I went back to test each unit, I found that berzerkers can throw over the front line. Also, later, I decided NOT to remove and replace my long range units (crossbowmen) when I was able to get musketeers. The musketeers can be placed behind the crossbowmen for extra support. At the end of level 12 I had four seperate ranges that I used to attack. 5 if I ever used ballistas.

There is more to say on this, but, first, it's more important that you understand why your army works the way it does.

Third, play with tactics! I got a huge benefit from watching my army fight over and over. Find a long fight with no losses and watch your army closely. Literally, zoom in on specific units to figure out their behavior. See problems, make changes, go again. The main purpose of this step is to understand your army and make them the most efficient killers that you possibly can. By watching fights, I found that I was making a HUGE mistake by stacking companies of equal range. The individual units were tripping over one another to attack, which means that my men at the front were being killed while the rear was still positioning to attack. A simple change like putting a horizontal space between two companies meant that they were all getting to an optimal place quickly and I wasn't losing units unnecessarily.

If you've got a good handle on placement and tactics see if you can fulfill different scenarios or manipulate the attacking army. Keep in mind that even the strongest enemies fall quickly when attacked on all sides. Here's an idea to toy with... I don't use ballistas or cannons currently, but when I had them, I found that placing them at the front on the side meant they could attack from the beginning of the fight. When I did this I learned to make sure that the rest of my army was there fast enough to fend off attackers; however, before I figured that out, I noticed some interesting troop movement in my opposition. This placement was drawing units away from the main group. You may not find this as interesting, or useful for that matter, but it's important to notice little things like that in order to exploit any and all advantages. Perhaps one can entice a divide and conquer scenario with better placement.

Finally, there will be times you can't buy a stronger unit, but you may be able to upgrade. Until you get the inventors workshop, don't worry about upgrades. I was considering dropping berzerkers, but upgrading them twice at the inventors workshop made them an almost unstoppable force on the battlefield for a while. With 20 berzerkers on my army, these two upgrades gave my army 1120 more hit-points!

Hopefully this helped you a bit. Have fun!

Don't convert resources

Don't convert your crystals in the beginning for moonstone because you will require a lot of crystals for a later on project and it requires around 100 crystals to finish 2 quests when your level 24 to finish.

Crystal Farming hint

Once you get into level 35-50 you can do the 17th (3rd to last) battle in Serpent City repeatedly. You consistently get 4 crystals at the beginning but as the % of treasure goes down so does the amount of crystal awarded UNTIL you get to 5% treasure left. At that % you will start getting 7 bombs and 10 to 14 crystals per battle about 50% of the time. Take about 1 1/2 hours to battle down to 5% but then you can start raking in the bombs or crystals big time. Have over 1250 at the moment, which is good as the newer units cost several each.
