Type file0001 followed by one of the following command line parameters while in the game's directory:

NOROBERT	Alternate method of selecting items in the upgrade menu.
NOJOY	Disable joystick detection.
NOSOUND	Disables sound effects, but not music.
YESXMAS	Enable Christmas mode in v2.01. A lot of the ships and weapons have their graphics changed to a Christmas theme.
ULTRAMID	Fixes problems with GUS MIDI.
FLICKER	Force game not to wait for a retrace (enabled by default if Windows is detected).
WEAKJOY	Force game to average the signals coming from the joystick.
BORDER	Network border mode (apparently useless)
DEATH	onstant death mode. Sip explodes when you enter a level but eeps scrolling until the end.
RECORD	Records every level played and saves the last one to DEMOREC.<number>. To play them back rename them to demo.<1-5>. Note: Mouse and joystick are disabled while recording.
NOKEY	Send keys to the BIOS in case some other device driver needs input. Still uses the keyboard input driver however.
MAXJOY	Set joystick sensitivity to maximum.
MAXVOL	Set the sound card's main volume to maximum if it is able to instead of reading the current value.
CONSTANT	Ship fires continuously while sweeping from side to side. Press C to toggle invincibility.
VOLUME	Similar to MAXVOL.
LOOT[Square symbol]	Start with 1 million credits. Note: Hold [Alt] and type [Numpad 254] to enter the [Square symbol]

Type setup followed by one of the following command line parameters while in the game's directory:

NOSOUND	Disable sound/music usage even if FX or Music are in the config file. It tells the initialization routine to never check for initialization and will not load the sound effects, saving memory in setup.exe. FM sound will still be automatically detected. You can, however, select sound and music selections that would otherwise not work and it will not return an error since it does not try to detect them. This might help if someone has a problem only in setup.exe and not in the game.
JUKEBOX	Go directly to setup.exe's jukebox. Press [Esc] to exit.
SOUND?	Save a file called sound.rpt to game directory detailing your sound selections and any initialization errors.

After enabling the impossible and suicide skill levels, hold [Scroll Lock] + L + O + R + D.

Open an MS-DOS window and change the current directory to the Tyrian 2000 game directory. Type file0001 yesxmas at the DOS prompt, then press Y when prompted. This will change various items, weapons, ships, and sounds to a Christmas theme. Note: Christmas mode is date-sensitive and will only be remain active until December 31, 1999.
