The Chainsaw Majini is a hard enemy due to his high resistance to bullets. If your difficulty setting is Amateur or Normal just kill him and relax. Although, if you are on Veteran or Professional, you still have work to do after killing him. Once dead, he will rise up again, more furious than ever. He will swing his chainsaw and and will try to kill you via immediate decapication.

Press L3 + R3 to do a "lure away move", where Chris will say "Come on, come on!" or Sheva will whistle. This actually lures away regular enemies towards you just in case your partner is low on health, trying to pull something off, crank something, etc.

Go up to the building that has two frag grenades. You can go off of the edge and bounce them off of the sign named "KENNYS". If done correctly, this will blow off the lock, eliminating the need for Sheva and yourself to be separated.

After the gate has broken open, you can enter the market. Go all the way down the street until you see big red doors and gas cans next to them. Turn right just before the gas cans. There will be a brief case you can open with a VZ61 Machine gun in it. If you look closely, the gun looks similar to the "Scorpion" sub machine gun from Call Of Duty 4. This gun will make this level much easier.

When you are out of ammo, don't reload unless you have to (e.x. you are fighting a boss, you don't have any other weapon). Then, go and upgrade the capacity of this empty weapon. Your gun will now have full ammo. This is a good tactic to conserve ammo for weapons like the S&W Magnums, for which ammunition is very difficult to find.

At the beginning of Chapter 2-1, you will be in a garage with two Humvees, numerous breakable crates, and a machine gun. Pick up any items you wish, including the machine gun. End the game, and select "Yes" to overwrite your current equipment. Continue the game from the main menu. You will have gained your items, as well as the machine gun. From here you can sell the machine gun back for quick money, then repeat the process over again. This is an easy way to help upgrade your weapons early, as well as max your ammo out.
