Beat musou mode with any character on hard and a very hard difficulty setting will become available.

Highlight the "Replay" option at the "Opening Edit" screen, then hold L + R and press A. You will see all of the people from the gray army dancing.

Dynasty Warriors 3 ItemsWhen fighting on a level with wooden gates, position your character against to and facing a gate. Try to fire an arrow through it, at the enemy soldiers on the other side. When you hit one, the gate will open up.



Stand in front of the elephant that is going to ram you. When it hits you, press L a few times to bounce up. While still in the air from your bounce, execute your jump attack. Note: Do not try this with weak characters with weak defense.



When someone does a combo on you, their last hit will usually throw you. While you are being thrown through the air, tap L a few times to flip back on your feet.



Go to a gate but do not kill the Gate Captain. Kill his guards and the Gate Captain will call for more men. The Gate Captain will move back. Go to the gate until the small sign appears and kill all the men that appear. You can lower the number of people for that general. You can do this anywhere, with anyone. It is also good training for you and your bodyguard.



Kill Gate captains with Musou attack (full combos) to get Defense Up +2 instead of +1. You can do this either in Free or Musou mode. One way to fill up you defense meter quickly is to play the Battle Of Hu Lao Gate level as the allied forces. There are seven Gate captains and three officers who have the Defense Up item. Kill them all with Musou attack to get +20 total. You can also use this trick to Attack Up. Everything +1 killed by Musou attack will be +2 (defense or attack).



To complete beat Musou mode easily, start a game in two player Musou mode. Choose the character you want to be. Then, with the second controller choose any character that is already leveled up and is good. Play through Musou mode with the good character and you should win easily. Make sure you keep the other character out of danger.



A shorter Mosou Max stat may be better, since it requires less time to fill up and Musou more readily available. Avoid taking the +10 Musou boxes and do not use +xx Musou Max items.



Play under the hard difficulty setting with two players (one who already has a fourth weapon and the other that needs a fourth weapon). Complete what is necessary with the good character, then use the other character to pick up the fourth weapon. For example, to get Taishi Ci's special weapon, play the Assault On Wu Territory level with Lu Bu and his fourth weapon and Taishi Ci. Get Taishi Ci to safety. Kill every one except Sun Ce. Then, use Taishi Ci to get his fourth weapon.

Note: You do not necessarily have to pick up the item with the weaker character. Anybody can pick up the fourth item for the weaker character. It will automatically be given to the character without the fourth weapon.

For precious (special) items, put the character whose weapon you are after in the first slot (base strength) and put a maxed out character in slot two. With player two, perform the actions required to make the weapon appear then just have player one collect it. For Supply Troop weapons, have a base strength player in slot one and the character whose weapon you are after in slot two. Do what is needed to get the weapon under the hard difficulty setting.

Get a character's second weapon , choose the Nanman campaign, then kill everyone (including Meng Hou), except Meng Hou for the last time. At the end, you should have three weaponsm with one being the special weapon. This can be done with Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, Zhou yu, and Xiahou Dun. Note: Always use the second weapon always as it does more damage.

Fourth weapons can be picked up by anyone, as the weapons are usually level specific. As long as you have the corresponding character as player one, the weapon will appear after completing the tasks with any character, unless stated "...must pass under <gate name> and it will appear." Just put the stronger character out of harm's way, then have the other character (player one) go through the gate. When the message appears, either retreat back to safety and have the stronger player (player two) pick it up and finish, or pick it up as player one and retreat to safety.



Go to You Ting and defeat Zhang Pu and Zhen Ji. They will both give you weapons. Sometimes the weapons are first weapons, at other times they are the second or third weapons. Note: This can be done with anybody, but you should build them up first.

Play the Assault On Wu Territory level under the hard difficulty setting. Have someone help you defeat the stage. While the other person is defeating the officers, go and take all of the weapon boxes that appear. Some weapon boxes are in boxes. After completing the level, you should have the second and third weapons.

Play as Cao Cao and successfully complete the game. His first and second weapons are the same as Liu Bei's, Sun Quan's, and Sun Jian's first and second weapons. When you start a new Musou with these characters, you will automatically get their second weapon.

Play under the normal or hard difficulty setting. Go to the Assault On the Wu Territories level and play as Sun Ce's forces. There are four weapons in this stage; three of them are held by officers, Zhang Ying, Chen Heng, and Yan Yu. The fourth one is in a box that will be diagonally left of your position as soon as you enter the fort on the bottom right of the map, where Liu Yong is located.

Play the Nanman Campaign under any difficulty setting. Meng Huo, Meng You, and Dailali Dongzou will all give you weapon boxes. They usually are a mix of second and third weapons.

Start a two player free mode game under the hard difficulty setting at the Battle Of You Ting level. Play as Sun Jian's forces. This stage is the perfect place to find second or third weapons. Player one should be a fresh character you want the weapon for, while player two should be a maxed out character with the fourth weapon. When you start the level, let player two take care of the Gate Captains, archers, and soldiers. Then, walk player one to the crates at the start of the beach and smash them all. One of them contains a weapon and another has an item. Move player two up the path to Liu Biao's castle. On the way, look for a crate. Kill the soldiers there with player two, then move player one to the crate and smash it. Pick up the contents, which almost always is a second or third weapon. Finish the stage with player two.

Play the Guan Yu's Escape level as any character under the medium difficulty setting. Play the level two times and make sure that your character has moderate stats. Play through the level as normal and make sure to get all the weapons available from officers. On the second time through the level, you will get that character's second or third weapon.



Play a two player game with one character who has very good stats and another character who you want the weapon for. Play at the Yellow Turban Rebellion under the hard difficulty setting and have each character equipped with a Red Hare Saddle. At the very beginning, put the character you want the weapon for near Sun Jian but not in a place where he could get hurt. Next, have your strong character fight Sun Jian. When he dies, he will drop a weapon. Let your strong character just stand there. He should have good enough defense that barely any health is taken away. Have the other character quickly run in, grab the weapon, and run out again. Then, go in the castle with the strong character and kill He Jin to end the level. You will almost always get the character's second weapon and sometimes even their third weapon. Note: You may have problems doing this with Zhang He.

There are four weapons that can be found in the Assault On Wu Territory level. Play on Sun Ce's force on any difficulty setting. Note: The harder the setting, the better the weapons. Both of the generals at the start of the level, Zhang Ying and Chen Heng, drop weapons. As you progress through the level, defeat Tashi Ci and go to fight Yan Bai Yu. His sub-general Yan Yu will drop the third weapon. The fourth weapon is in a crate in the middle-left part of section where you fight Liu Yong.



Go to the Surprise Attack On Lui Biao level with an already enhanced Lu Bu and the character you want. There are five weapon boxes throughout the level. Get those with the other character, not Lu Bu after killing every person on the level with Lu Bu, except for the main person. Then, kill the last person. There is also a Musou +10 and an Life +10 in the level. For a third weapon, play under the hard difficulty setting. If you do not get their second or third weapon, play on the other side.

Max out a character (with or without a fourth weapon). Put a base strength character in the player one slot. The game adjusts its difficulty according to the first player's strength. Then, put your maxed character in slot two under the normal difficulty setting. Play the Battle At Tong Gate. At the start of the battle, put your first player character in a safe spot nearby then kill Tong Gate Generals Ma Dai, Pang De, and Han Sui. By now Ma Chow will be occupied with Cao Cao -- kill Cheng Yin and he will drop a weapon box. Keep the box on the second player's screen and have player one take the box. Have player two stand there and let his bodyguards take care of any units. Then, take player one to the northern-most point of Cao Cao's side of Tong Gate. Once there you will find a box with a weapon inside. Take the weapon, then hide player one and kill Ma Chow with player two.

Play the Battle of Mt. Ding Jun level on Shu forces. Turn around and take the path Zhand Fei is taking. Kill Xiahou De to get the weapons box. Go to where Xiahou Yuan is located and go right, then break open the box and pick up the weapons box. Next, find and kill Cao Hond and pick up the weapons box for the last one in the stage. There is also a Life +10 to the right of Cao Cao, to the left of you. You should play the level under the normal or hard difficulty setting for a better chance at getting the third weapon. The weapon will give you better stats. For example, playing on easy results with Life +9, playing on hard results in Life +31.

Play the Battle At Tong Gate level in two player mode under the hard difficulty setting. Have one of the players be powered up and the other as the character that will get the third weapon. Leave the first player where they start (unless there are enemies nearby, then move them away). Have the second player go to the right. Hopefully they will start near Cao Cao. If not, then use someone that does to find the box. Follow the hill to the left and when it makes a sharp turn keep going forward until you find the coast. Then, follow it to the left until you find a box that always has a weapon in it. Get it, then move him to safety. Use player one to finish the level. This may need to be repeated if the found weapon is the player's second weapon.



Chose the easy difficulty setting to get +4 Four Attack from both Gan Ning and Lu Meng and +4 Defense from Sun Shang Xiang and Lu Xun. Life +10 and Musou +10 are also in the maze. Complete this in less than 25 minutes with a fourth weapon and good stats.



In order to save Sun Jian from being crushed, you must kill Kuai Liang before Sun Jian arrives at the area that he is normally killed in. Try going directly to Kwai Liang without fighting any Gate Guards or Lu Gong. This will stall Sun Jian. Another way to save him is to play as his character.



Play the level under any difficult setting. Acquire a second weapon for your character. Then, kill Gan Ning, Lu Meng and Cheng Pu with a 20+ hit combo or kill them with one Musou attack only. Gan Ning and Lu Meng together provide Attack +16. Then, kill Cheng Pu the same way to get a total of Attack +18 for the entire level. Repeat this as needed.



In the Battle of Wu Zhang Plains under the hard difficulty setting as the Wei force, find a place where an intermission sequence starts and you see shooting stars. A special item message should appear for the Defender. This is almost impossible to obtain with one person. Both of your characters should be at full stats with their fourth weapon. This item will have your character's Defense x2 when near death.



This item prevents you from be overpowered while blocking. Play the He Fie level as the Wu side. Allow Taishi Ci to get killed in the arrow attack, then retreat with Sun Quan to the lower right corner of the level, to the broken bridge. You will jump over the bridge with Sun Quan. About five minutes later, Zhang Liao will attack Sun Quan. Defeat Zhang Liao and he will drop the item. This item is very useful when blocking, especially when fighting against Lu Bu.



Play Huang Gai under the hard difficulty setting at the battle of Chi Bi for Allied forces. Follow orders to execute the fire attack against the Wei (Cao Cao's) forces. Defeat Zhang Liao (and possibly some other generals as well) before defeating Cao Cao. A "Special Item" should be found near the place of prayer at the southwestern end of the map. The Shadow Rod is a +44 attack weapon with 6 hits. It also adds +27 Musou Charge, +82 HP Max, +57 Defense, +52 Mounted Attack, and +23 Reach.



Play The Siege Of Hei Fei Castle as the Blue forces. Defeat all generals except Sun Quan and the special item message will appear. Go to the big boat that Sun Quan is on to receive the Art of War Scroll. It doubles the time of the effect of the Defense and Attack times two for thirty seconds and Musou full for ten seconds.



To make your arrows more powerful, hold R as when firing an arrow, but press Y. It will shoot a more powerful beam instead of just a normal arrow. You do not need the stronger arrows item for this trick.



Play Dong Zhuo in Battle of Hu Lao Gate as Dong Zhuo's forces under the hard difficulty setting. First, destroy Liu Bei's army by killing Liu Bei himself. It is not necessary to kill Guan Yu and Zhang Fei. Dong Zhuo will tell Diao Chan to go to the front lines. Wait for Diao Chan to defect. It may take a while. After she defects, quickly kill her before Lu Bu does. The special item message for Dong Zhuo's fourth weapon should appear in the center of the map.

Select Dong Zhuo and his forces for the Battle Of Hu Lao Gate. Wait five to ten minutes until Dong Zhuo says "Diao Chan, go to the front". When Hua Xiong dies, Diao Chan will defect. Quickly kill her before Lu Bu does. The special item message for Dong Zhuo's fourth weapon should appear at the bottom of the map. Note: This will not work if your bodyguards kill Diao Chan.



Play the Battle Of Chi Bi level under any difficulty setting. Ride or run as fast as you can to Zhou Yu and kill him. This must be done before the fire attack starts. A special item message will appear. The item can be found where you usually kill Xiahou Dun/Huang Gai's destination point.

Play the Battle of Chi Bi level as Cao Cao's forces. Defeat Huang Gai before he completes his fire attack. Then, attack and kill Zhao Yu. When he has been defeated, a special item will appear where you defeated Huang Gai. It engulfs your arrows in flame, which continues to damage an enemy when they are hit.



At the Battle Of He Fei level, defeat 480 soldiers before Gan Ning launches his surprise attack. After you do, go to where Gan Ning is fighting and defeat him. You may also get a special item called the Power Scroll.



This is probably the hardest item to obtain in the game: Make sure you are playing on the easy difficulty setting. Kill Pang Dai and Ma Dai. Make Han Sui defect. Han Sui's defection is based on morale, not time. Your morale on Cao Cao's team has to be higher then Ma Chao's. After the morale drop he will defect sometime during the next two minutes. Protect Han Sui. If you are not careful, he will die before he has the chance to defect. Once he does defect, kill everyone except Ma Chao. After a little while he will retreat behind Tong Gate. After a very long period of time, the supply team will appear. It does take a long time, so be careful and the sooner you accomplish the other tasks the better.

Han Sui's defection is not based on time or morale. He must get close to Cao Cao. It is recommend that you use Cao Cao on this level. Some "tasks" must be completed first. First, kill Ma Dai and Pang Dai. Then, wait for Han Sui to come out of Tong Gate and then approach, but do not attack him. The defection sequence/negotiations will begin in a few moments. Note: Han Sui will only defect if Ma Chao is behind Tong Gate. After Han Sui defects, defeat all other generals and wait for Ma Chao to retreat behind Tong Gate. After a few minutes, a supply unit will appear. Kill the supply captain to get the Golden Harness.



Go to the options screen and to the Opening Menu. At the Opening menu, hold down the top right and top left buttons and select ''Replay'' to get the Neutral ending with Diao Chan singing. Hold down the white and black buttons and select ''Replay'' to get the Neutral ending where Zhu Rong sings.
