  • Azurill: When you get the Sea Incense from Mt. Pyre, breed two Marill (male and female). Give the female Marill the Sea Incense and put the two Pokemon in the Daycare Center. When you get the egg, you will get only male Azurills. If you gave the Sea Incense to the male Marill, you will only get female Azurills.
  • Bagon: Bagon is the first stage of Salamence (Drake's best Pokemon, which is Dragon and Flying type). You can find it in the smallest room in Meteor Falls. On the rectangular piece of land, you will find TM02 (Dragon Claw), which gives Attack 80 and Accuracey100. Bagon evolves into Shellgon, then into Salamence. Salamence is like a fire dragon; cannot learn water attacks; but can learn Flying, Fire, and Dragon attacks.
  • Banette: Can be found in Sky Pillar.
  • Barboach: Found on route 114. Go to the bridge and use your Super Rod. After a few tries, you should battle it. Use a level 35 or 36 Gyrados that knows Surf. Use Surf twice and it should have very little HP remaining. Then, use a Net Ball.
  • Beautifly: Evolves from Silcoon.

  • Castform: Recommended moves: The best moves for Castform are Blizzard, Fireblast, Thunder, and Solar Beam.
  • Chimecho: Go to Mt. Pyre and enter the mountain. Then, go inside and turn right. Go out the other door. Then, go to the highest point in the mountain and check in the grass. Chimecho is difficult to find. Bring about ten Ultra Balls.
  • Chinchou: Can be caught anywhere underwater.
  • Clampearl: Can be caught anywhere underwater.

  • Corsola: Go to Pacifidlog Town. Go to the house with the girl standing on it. Go inside. Talk to the girl next to the vase in the back of the room. She will ask you to trade a Bellosum for a Corsola. You must have Bellosum to get Corsola.
  • Crobat: Catch a Zubat and treat it very well. Give it items such as Iron. After it evolves into a Golbat, in the very next level it will become a Crobat if you treated it well enough.
  • Delacatty: You must have a Skitty and a Moon Stone. Use the Moon Stone on Skitty and it will evolve into a Delacatty. Be careful not to evolve Skitty too soon, as it will not learn some attacks.
  • Deoxys and Jirachi: You cannot get Jirachi and Deoxys during the game. They are given away through a Nintendo event, much like Mew and Celebi were in previous Pokemon games.
  • Dodrio: Other than by evolution, it can be found in the Safari Zone.
  • Doduo: Caught in the Safari Zone.
  • Donphan: Evolves from Phanpy at level 25.

  • Dustox: Evolves from Cascoon.
  • Eevee: All evolutions: To get all five evolutions of Eevee you must trade from Pokemon Fire Red or Leaf Green and get at least one Eevee, one Ditto, one Thunder Stone , one Fire Stone , and one Water Stone. First, evolve Eeve into Jolteon, Flareon, or Vaporeon. Then, keep breeding Eevee at the Daycare and use the Mach Bike on the Cycling Road. Then, go back to the Daycare to get the egg of Eevee at level 5. Once you have evolved Eevee, breed Eevee two more times then raise it to level 41. It should evolve into either Espeon or Umbreon according to the time (a.m. or p.m.). You should now have the data of all evolutions of Eevee. Note: To breed, you must put Eevee and Ditto together.
  • Electrode: There are two ways to get Electrode. You can either catch an Electrode at New Mauville (which will take a long time), or you can catch a Voltorb and train it until it gets to level 30.
  • Espeon or Embreon: Trade them from Pokemon Coliseum.
  • Exploud: Go into the Victory Road cave in Ever Grande City. Find a Loudred in the cave and increase it one level. It will evolve into Exploud.
  • Feebas: Feebas can only be found on Route 119, and is very hard to find. Feebas only appears in six tiles on the route. The tiles are random, depending on the popular phrase you used in Dewford. Catching this Pokemon requires a lot of time and patience. However, when evolved into Milotic this Pokemon is very useful. To capture Feebas try using "Mudkip Ball" as your popular phrase in Dewford. Later it turns to "Natural Flowers". Wait until "Natural Flowers" is the popular phrase or attempt to change it yourself. To find Feebas, get to Route 119. Start at the bottom and move north. Stop at the first little lake, immediately after the large patch of tall grass, and go as far left on the lake shore as you can. Surf, move one tile north, and fish with a Super Rod. Note: The tile locations may vary from game to game.
  • Flygon: Recommended moves for Flygon are Flamethrower, Fly, Dragonbreath, and Solar Beam. You can get Flamethrower at the Game Corner and Dragonbreath from the Move Tutor.
  • Geodude: You should get a Geodude at Dewford early in the game, when you are trying to give Steven his mail. When you get to Slateport, go up to the grass and get him to level 25. It should know at least one Ground move, one Rock move, and some others. After you defeat Team Magma/Aqua, go to Mauville (defeat May/Brendon) and challenge Wattson, the gym leader, immediately. Keep using Magnatude to win. Geodude is also a good choice because it is strong against the next three gym leaders; Flannery (Fire leader), Norman (Normal leader; your dad), and Wiona (Flying leader).
  • Girafarig: Can be caught in the Safari Zone.
  • Glalie: To catch a good Ice type Pokemon, go up to the Shoal Cave (north of Mossdeep). If it is low tide, go to the place with lots of ice. Search around until you find a Pokemon called Snorunt. Catch it, and train it to level 42. It will then evolve into Glalie. If you want a good move variety, teach Glalie TM03 (Water Pulse) once it evolves. Try teaching it Water Pulse (obtained after defeating the last Gym leader), Ice Beam (learned by level), Blizzard (learned by level), and Crunch (learned by level).

He will ask you to trade for his Deepseascale and the Deepsea Tooth. Choose either one of them, then give it to a Clamperl. This will raise its stats and allow it to evolve when traded. To get Gorebyss, give Clamperl the Deepseascale then trade it to a friend with a link cable. Then, have them trade it back to get Gorebyss. To get Huntail. give Clamperl the Deepseatooth and do the same thing.
  • Grimer: Found in the Fiery Path.

Note: You may want to breed an Igglybuff before you evolve it.
  • Jirachi: Get 200 Pokemon in the Pokedex. Go to Mossdeep Space Center and talk to the person near the rocket. He says that the Rocket 100 is blasting off. Get on it and you will fight Jirachi.
  • Kecleon: The best moves for Kecleon are Fire Blast, Blizzard, Thunder, and Hyper Beam.
  • Kingdra: Fish for a Horsea. Some of them will be holding a Dragon Scale. Make a Seadra hold this item and trade it to get a Kingdra. The best way to get Dragon Scale is to teach a Pokemon Thief and use it on a Horsea. If the Horsea is holding a Dragon Scale, the Pokemon will take it away. If not, attack it normally.

  • Ninetales: Evolves from Vulpix with the Fire Stone.
  • Nosepass: Keep using Rock Smash until you enter a battle with a Nosepass.

You must have a positive disposition to encounter this Pokemon, which means your Pokemon must be attracted to you. This early in the game, it is almost impossible for them to really like you. It is weak at first, but a powerful Psychic type Pokemon can be very useful later in the game.
