Topic: New Members: READ ME!

Lately, we have seen quite a number of newbies (non-derogatory term for new members) that are spamming the thread with duplicate, copied and mimicked polls and topics. We, regular and responsible members in CC, along with our admin, are trying our best to keep the forums orderly and comprehensive. Members who act like trolls or noobs are wasting everybody's time, especially when we need to report duplicated polls/topics.

Don't think that because the site pays for each post that you can just spam to earn more. This won't be tolerated. You don't want to be part of the missing profiles' list right? (Technically, your profile deleted and you, banned). I have some simple pointers you should take note, if you are really serious in participating in the forums regularly.

1. Please don't duplicate polls/topic or copy the ideas of others. There are already so many done-to-death polls, like the following:

BEST CONSOLE
BEST GAME
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE <BLAH BLAH>
WHICH IS BETTER, <BLAH BLAH>
WHICH CONSOLE WOULD YOU DIE FOR
FAVORITE CAR
BEST <ATHLETE>
Anything with Mario, Sonic, Zelda, GTAIV, etc.
DO YOU OWN <console/handheld>
DO YOU LOVE <BLAH BLAH>

This are all pretty generic and been discussed already. Everybody will eventually get sick answering the same polls over and over again. Can't you guys think of something else? There are endless topics in the world, not just in the world of gaming. For goodness sake, stop making repetitive polls for best game or console since it is player's preference anyway.

2. READ BEFORE YOU POST. I hate reading short, senseless responses like "LOL", "Yeah, I agree" and "<Smileys>". Don't just post trash replies like that. Read the post before you; more importantly, read the topic then type your response. Don't start a topic or respond if you don't know what you're talking about. If you made an honest mistake, accept it and apologize.

3. LOOK, READ BEFORE ASKING. Even though that this is a cheat site, don't just go asking "PLEASE SEND ME CHEATS FOR <this game>" WTF? Search the site. Search the web. Google it. The internet has tonnes of resources. You just need to utilize them.

4. DON'T BE A FANBOY. Fanboyism is plague. Its a curse. Nobody cares if you love your console or game so much; just don't go around flaming somebody because he doesn't like/own the console you married or the game that became your life. Everybody has the freedom to choose and share their opinions. Just because he/she doesn't like what you like means they are wrong and you're right.

5. BE FRIENDLY, BE CONSIDERATE. Flaming is not allowed in the site. There are instances that such retaliatory response may be needed to pacify some members. But all won't go unnoticed in the eyes of our admin. Respect everybody and they'll respect you too.

There you go. If you did read all this, then that's a good start. So, go out there and start participating in our message boards.

READ ME - This is warning
I know that some of you guys are working hard to get your trophies and such. But I have seen a very annoying trend that some of you guys do. Please let this serve as a warning.

First off, is the polls. Creating polls asking what's the best title of a game series isn't bad. However, if you plan to do that on almost every series you can think of, that is indirect spamming. If this is ethical, we should have done it before. So please, don't spam the polls with "Best of <game>" topics. This is annoying and most of all, noobish.

Second, blogs. In the blogs we can write everything we want, as long as it doesn't violate any site rules. However, replying to your own blog just to "bump" it or to earn points, is pretty ret****d and also a form in indirect spamming.

Next, thread conversations. In most threads, we can't really avoid asking and answering questions from our fellow members. But remember, chatting on the threads or exchanging comments not related to the topic is a serious offense. Normally you'll be banned for spamming or not using the threads properly but you'll receive a warning first. Besides, we have a messaging system where you can exchange messages without any issues.

We are happy that there are more active members now because of the trophy system but please, make sure you earn it because you deserve it; not because you spammed/ posted worthless contributions to get it. If you think you are missing some polls or replies, we may have deleted it for various reasons.

I hope we'll have your cooperation.
