Atlus’ Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, originally for the PS1, is being brought back and re-created for the DS. It is a musical-based Role Playing Game, geared toward girls with an easy and unique battling style. The story is similar to that of the first release and follows a young girl with the ability to talk to puppet, Cornet. There is no release date yet, but it is confirmed that the game will be released in America.
A Nintendo DS Port of Atlus’ Rhapsody: A Muscal Adventure (originally released for the Sony PSOne back in 2000) was confirmed by Famitsu last month, and now NIS America has confirmed that the little-known title will be receiving a localisation and US release.
Speaking to RPGamer, NIS America’s Localisation Director said:
Rhapsody ~A Musical Adventure~ is coming to the Nintendo DS here in North America. Some hardcore gamers might know this game, since it was released here by Atlus back in 2000 for the PS1. It’s a musical RPG that has a wacky storyline and a simple battle system that really caters towards a wide RPG fan base. It’s loads of fun and if you’re interested in any type of classic Japanese RPG, I think you’ll get a good kick out of it.
Considered a little on the easy side and aimed at girls, Rhapsody performed poorly on its first outing in America, but chances are that Atlus feels the now-expanded audience will mean that the adventure fares a bit better this time around. It follows the story of Cornet, a young girl with the power to talk to puppets. She teams up with a wooden companion to save Prince Ferdinand Marl E. after the evil Queen Marjoly has turned her to stone.
