Product Description & Features

After only one week on store shelves worldwide, LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy has already established itself as one of 2006’s strongest forces in video games. Since its release by LucasArts and TT Games on September 12, the biggest family game of the year has sold more than 1.1 million copies spanning eight platforms (PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, PSP (PlayStationPortable) system, Xbox 360™ and Xbox video game systems from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube™, Windows, Nintendo DS™ and Nintendo Game Boy Advance).

“There’s definitely something for everyone in LEGO Star Wars II, and the sales and reviews so far are proving it,” said Jim Ward, president of LucasArts. “This is the type of fun, accessible game everyone in the family can enjoy. It appeals to so much more than just the traditional gaming audience.”

Set in a tongue-in-cheek Star Wars galaxy, LEGO Star Wars II allows gamers to build and battle their way through the events of Star Wars: Episodes IV through VI. It has earned rave reviews from both consumer and trade press, largely because it is designed for the entire family.

“LEGO Star Wars II is an ideal family game, if not the ultimate family game,” lauded the San Jose Mercury News. The Rocky Mountain News’ reviewer agreed: “For me, the game's biggest draw is the bonding experience it delivers for me and my son. It's rare to find a game that inspires you to spend as much time laughing and talking with your child as you would trying to beat a level or create a confusing creature.”

USAToday.com notes that LEGO Star Wars II’s “lighthearted nature combined with the beloved film characters will be a force of entertainment for both younger gamers and longtime fans.” Finally, UGO.com declared, "This might be the perfect game. It will appeal to kids, parents and fans alike."

DESCRIPTION
As a wise green Jedi Master once proclaimed, "Size matters not." The handheld versions of LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy feature unique ways for you to build and battle your way through a tongue-in-cheek Star Wars galaxy, while still maintaining the fun and endless customization of LEGO set during the time period of the first three Star Wars films. The three handheld versions are as follows:

SONY PSP™
The PSP version of LEGO Star Wars II maintains the core level design and features found in the console and Windows versions of the game, but it adds several unique features of its own.

Play with a friend and share unlocked characters (more than 50!) via ad-hoc Wi-Fi.

Challenge mode adds hours of play for Star Wars fans as they unlock 18 of their favorite characters found in the original LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game (never released on PSP). By playing through timed versions of each of LEGO Star Wars II's levels, collect pieces of characters such as Darth Maul and General Grievous hidden throughout each level (just as mini-kit pieces are scattered about levels in Story mode). Once all five pieces of a character have been assembled, you can play as that prequel character in Free Play mode.

"The Story So Far" allows fans to relive the story of Episodes I, II and III in classic LEGO Star Wars fashion. As an even bigger bonus, they can play the last level of each Episode found in the original hit game, including Obi-Wan versus Darth Maul, Anakin versus Count Dooku, and Obi-Wan versus a newly turned Anakin on Mustafar.

NINTENDO DS™
The Nintendo DS version of LEGO Star Wars II stands as a completely unique version of the game. Using the system's power for full 3D action, it also creatively utilizes the touch screen.

Use the touch screen to do the following:
o Swap between characters on the fly.
o Take full hands-on advantage of the Character Customizer.
o Swap between all unlocked Characters in Free Play mode.
o Control the camera.

Wireless connectivity also allows for two-player co-op and an exclusive four-player versus mode, the Battle Arena. Collect 10 mini-kit pieces in each level to put together bounty hunters to fight in this environment set at Jabba's Palace. Compete to be the first to find and capture Han Solo in carbonite. The Battle Arena mode features single-pack downloadable play for up to four users.

Use the Character Customizer for Story mode by adding traditional LEGO accessories such as cowboy hats to the likes of Luke, Han and Leia. Like in the console versions, you can create even wackier custom-made characters for play in Free Play mode.

GAME BOY ADVANCE
Those who played the first LEGO Star Wars for GBA will feel right at home with the handheld system's version of the sequel. And there's even more to love this time around.

Pilot classic ships through Story or Free Play modes.
Adventure with a full party. Swap control of characters to utilize each individual's unique skills and abilities.
Contains far more LEGO interaction than its predecessor.
Delivers greater depth of Free Play mode puzzles and unlockables.

Features some of the GBA's most stunning graphics via a unique 2D isometric view very friendly to the system's capabilities.
