Tannhauser Gate, the talents behind massively multi-player online role playing game Mimesis Online have turned their expertise to the home PC format with The Roots, a hybrid of a classic role play coupled with dynamically fast paced action-adventure themes and elements in a fully 3-dimensional environment. The complex and multi-threaded storyline is set in the vast land of Lorath, where the Hero discovers an ancient evil has awoken.
Styled in a third person perspective within a rich and dynamically changing world, the land of Lorath is divided into some 24 regions during which our Hero meets over 120 non-playing characters (NPC), with over 50 abilities, and using over 400 different items and 70 spells to fight off up to 100 monsters and human aggressors on over 70 battle arenas.
The Roots technology features a transparent RPG system; in which development of character's statistics reflect the character's activities. Furthermore, players will be able to assign special abilities, spells and equipment to their characters. The battle system is specially designed arenas to reflect the free roaming environment where combat rules are similar to those known from Japanese RPGs.
Cenega UK is pleased to announce it has acquired the worldwide rights to publish The Roots for PC-CD from Poland based games developer Tannhauser Gate.
The Roots is a third-person perspective fantasy-role-playing, action-adventure experience. The game leans heavily on classic role playing within a mystical world where arena style turn-based, real time combat action is coupled with exploration to create an intriguing and fantasical adventure.

The Roots (PC-CD) will be shown at ECTS (Stand 1480) to invited media and trade at ECTS and is scheduled for release in Q3 2004 (SRP: ŁTBA)
