Question & Answers
Does world rank really affect legendary encounters?
I had a short conversation with shadow on this one question about anything that affects legendary encounters, and he said if you speed through the level and have a high world rank, you will have a higher chance of meeting one. i did this, and i did not notice any change. i even went on serebii.net and still could not find this out. i am still doubtful about this, but can anyone prove that this is true? thanks to all those that could help, and kinda of topic, but can someone go to the pokemon gold section of this website and help me, thanks.

Personally, im not that sure. it might just be that rank just makes legendaries stronger, not affect the encounters. but like i said, im not 100% sure, because i am only on rank 3.

No, world rank does not have an affect on legendary appeareces. how legendarys appear is still unknown (we don't know a solid % and, or ratio). however, it is in speculation that time:combo is a factor to legendary appearences. i've got a lugia this way, by speeding through the area, going into a rumpus room, and obtaining a combo of 42 while in the room. i did the level twice however, so it could have been a stroke of luck. i've also tried this technique, and have failed. i did the glacier on level 2 world axle atleast 25 times, got very high combos, and sped through it with my dialga. no luck on a kyrem(?) at all. however, some say it was because i was in the world axle, and if i did the same in northerly town i would have gotten a kyrem(?). that is all i know about the legendary appearences, and it might not be 100% true.

I dont think so. when i was rank 1, i found latios in my fisrt visit to the meadow and then lugia in my fisrt visit to the beach. i guess you must be lucky.

I think it might but it changes where the areas of the shiny launch pad (legendaries) are. i searched for trerrakion in one place, no luck. i searched in a different place, found him.

There's nothing you can do to change the frequency of legendary encounters. it's just pure luck. i was at rank one and my first legendary was heatran, and i got him in the first 3 tries. but for whatever reason, legendary encounters hasn't been that frequent as they used to. it takes 30 times for me instead of 3 to get a legendary. i still get the 5 times then legendary action occasionally and again, its all just pure luck...

Its 5% to get all legandary pokemon changing the world rank makes them stronger
Answer from: supershadow775
I know that world rank makes them stronger, so you dont have to keep reminding me, but thanks for your help anyways. i now know that that 5% chance of getting a legendary doesnt change. i mean if it did, serebii would tell us, but it doesnt.

Not exactly but still it could be possible because I got a Groudon 3359 on my first run and he is still my most powerful. I am on rank 9. But at about rank 4 when i got my Giratina 2554 it took me 20 times to get him. Nowadays I can do about three tries or less maybe more and I can get a shiny pad. So maybe the world rank can effect the legendary encounter rate.

Hard to say... I don't think the world rank has to do with a higher chance of meeting a legendary pokemon. It took me maybe 50(or maybe more) to get Kyurem at the glacier(yet I finnaly got it) o_O. I'll just say no matter what, there's a 5% chance(from serribi.net) of meeting a legendary pokemon : )
Answer from: chris
No, it does not. My world rank is 6 and I have tried to get zekrom and kreum 30 times each with no luck at all.
Answer from: LIEK MUDKIPZ?
I have found that upgrading the world rank does not make it more likey to encounter legendaries, but only makes them stronger. I've found that every try has the same percentage as any other try, so I just speed through with a speedy++ deoxys (speed form) and just speed run through all the levels and at latest it takes five minutes i get a legendary encounter. If you are having trouble trying to encounter a powerful legendary, but just to collect it instead of use it, turn on legacy mode, which can be done by holding down the L & R buttions while pushing the control pad to the left, then when you hear a noise, press the a buttion, and despite the world rank you raised, the pokemon will revert to rank 1, but the pokemon in your party will stay the same level, making it easy to capture legendaries for your collection. Going back to the title screen will revert it back to the world rank you had before and, if you saved, the pokemon from legacy mode will be there. Hope this information is helpful, if you don't already know all of this
