Can't find the sword to enable passage into next level

You have to locate all 3 scraps of the note first. Find all 3, then take them to the Police Housie man in the Housie village, and he'll piece them together. You'll come to find the Ice King hid your sword under Finn's bed. You can't find the sword there until you piece together the note.
