Go to lon lon as young link then listen to the girl sing and she will teach you a song. play that song as adult link, l-target the guy, and beat him in a race twice[easy as heck], then action jump over the back fence as he will lock you in.

Go to Lon Lon Ranch as a child, talk to Malon and she'll show you Epona, Epona will run away, talk to Malon again, and bring out your Fairy Ocarin, she'll teach you Epona's Song, and play it. Epona will warm up to you, and Malon will congratulate you. Then, as an adult go to the Ranch again and talk to the hardworking Ingo. Go to Epona (she's a darker chestnut) and play Epona's Song to calm her.Ride around on her until the last couple of seconds and talk to Ingo. He'll challenge you to a race, with a 50 ruppe bet. Bet him, and accept his second race. Beat him and win Epona! He'll lock the doors to leave though, so you'll have to jump over the ledge at the end of the Field. Epona will jump and you escape! Now you can summon her with Epona's Song! Go back and you'll see Ingo back to being a ranch hand. Talk to Malon and she'll give you an obstacle course. Beat the time and you get a cow in your house, which you can get free Lon Lon Milk from with an empty bottle and Epona's Song! Wake up Talon in Kakario Village by talking to Anju (Cucoo lady) and get the Pocket Egg. Wait a day to get the Pocket Cucoo and go to the first house. Go to Talon and use the Cucoo to wake him up, and restore Lon Lon Ranch! (Epona is not needed to complete the game, but is a faster way of transportation. Epona is needed, however, to get to Gerudo Cortress as an adult without the Longshot when the bridge is down. Epona can only be summoned in Hyrule Field, Lake Hyllia, Gerudo Valley/Fortress, and none other that I know of.
