You could try lining your roof with stone

Never had any problems like that. The one time I set my house on fire I accidentally put lava on my roof. I have a huge castle that has a diamond block roof and have never had lightning set it on fire, even though my mode is on living, not static. If you are using survival mode, try making the roof out of a non flammable substance. If you are creative, switch the mode to static instead of living.

Try to make your house out cobble stone
Answer from: survival pro ;)
Cover your barn roof with cobble / basalt / stone slabs, you can camouflage them by painting them in the same colour as your barn, did the same on my house and greenhouses.

When the storm starts go to sleep and the lightning never ends up stricking your house because the same thing was going on with me so i just did that.

Maybe lightning hit it so It burned down

If you have iron underground of your house you might want to take care of that because once I was shocked and killed by lightning as I was carry some new iron. Definitely don't carry a whistle around your horses just to be safe of catching them on fire
Answer from: Girlsgame,too!
If you would like, you can line the barn with non-flammable materials. It will give an extra layer of protection from the lightning, and make your barn feel safer to your cows, horses, etc. because of all the werewolves that eat them. Hope this helped! ;)
