Trying to jump across the swinging gold shelves and i fall every time. is there a trick -- double jump then run? run then double-jump?

No all you have to do is look where the two swinging shelves hit each other and then get as close as you can to that point. when they hit again you should be able to move on. this applies with everything else. hope this helps!
