Maze Level getting suits Help Please

I'm completely stuck on the maze level! I've read about getting suits to get through the acid, but I can't even get to the suits. I feel like I'm probably missing something obvious, but I just really don't know what to do. All I've done so far is get past the vines right at the beginning and fight the guys that come out of the ground. Please help?

If your on DS you need to use Robin by going through the little blue door things by the green acid when your in the maze area.
