Anyone else with multiplier issues?

We got the x2 brick then it quit working, so we got the x4 brick. Used it and now also quit working. This is really frustrating because I wouldn't have gotten them for my son. It was to make it easier for him to earn the characters, but now not working. Extremely frustrating!

Sometimes it resets so you have to go press "start", go to "extras" and make sure they are all turned to "yes". When you restart a game or turn it off, you have to make sure they are set to "yes".
