On harvest moon, when is the best time to go fishing? how do you know if you have caught a fish?

Well, 1st question, the best time to go fishing i would say after 5 o clock because its get darker and you catch a lot of fish

2nd question you know if u have caught a fish because on your screen above your charcters head comes a ( !) then you click y about 2 seconds gap. then you will get a fish whatever kind
