How do i put a bandage on a broken bone on an animal?

You have to buy bandages and have them in the inventory, you then go to the grooming table and the bandages are with the clothing. when you dress the animal in a bandage it bandages the whole animal which is right. confusing i know then you leave your pet in the kennel for 5 days and only feed it. it needs rest. hope this helps.
