How use my special moves

I am on sory one level 5-4 and it keeps telling me to use my special moves forget how to do this

To use it you only have to press L (shoulder button) and then select the jewel you want to make disappear. If you have no special moves previously earned and a "no more moves" occurs, you'll get a free special move so you can't be stuck
