How do you get the tree that moves out of the path?

You have to beat the normal gym leader then go to the flower shop and one of the ladys will give u a water can,then spray the tree, you will battel it

After beating the gym leader in goldenrod go to the flower shop and the lady will give you a water can you go and water the tree and battle it when you cath it it will open a path to go to the first town that has a gym leader.
