Tips to find a shiny

I would suggest to go in the grass and just randomly run around. the only problem is it might take a while. so you just have to get lucky. i once found a shiny sneasel in mt. silver. another problem about shiny pokemon is that they can flee easily. so you might want to capture it very quickly or use a pokemon that knows mean look or has the ability shadow tag. or you can take the easy way out, by using the action replay(a cheat engine you insert into your ds,dsi, or 3ds). that is all i can provide. i hope it helps. :)

Ok, you need a brand new game for this: Start the new game and save before you get your starter, then look at the starters if none are shiny, soft reset (hold start select L and R at the same time) Repeat until one is a shiny. I have done this before and now have a shiny Cyndaquil.

Another thing you can do to get a shiny legendary pokemon is to, basically, restart over and over again 'till you get one.

On pokemon platinum, use a pokeradar. SL, HG, action replay or 10000 soft resets.
