Cleaning the painting
On my DS, whenever I try to clean the painting in Brittany it doesn't work. I dust it with the brush, then it tells me to use cleaning fluid. I try cleaning fluid + cloth and it tells me that isn't the right tool. I try cleaning fluid and brush and do a sweeping motion over the green dots, but all that happens is a little sound effect, and I can't click out of it after that. I can't change tools or anything--it just doesn't do anything. What am I missing>

Ellie When it tells you to use Cleaning fluid combine with the cloth and tap each of the dots in turn starting with the largest one and follow across the map, more dots will appear. tap each one in turn.

Use the cleaning liquid and the brush

Its the cleaning fliud and the brush following the dots. Then cloth and then blow into your ds.
