How do u pass the book cases in the house

When you get to the bookcase and you have the two pillows, press b then use the d pad to move to the symbol that looks like the recycle symbol. press b again and it combines the two pillows into a bouncy pillow. you can then jump on the bouncy pillow and get over the bookcase.
