How can you get heracross in pokemon crystal?

Just outside mt.motar there should be a pond on the right, surf to the other side of the pond and u will find some small trees use headbut on them. This may take about 5 to 10 minutes. while searching for heracross u might also come accros aipom which is also quite rare.
