Saving the game
My pokemon crystal version will not save the game, i go to the menu then i wait for the do not turn off power warning, but when i turn it back on the game file is not there, how do i fix this?

After you press the yes option the second time, and then wait for it to go off it should save, if not, that means the save file is corrupt and will never save, so you have to get a new one

Your save battery is dead you need a new one.

Its definently the battery if u can get the game apart you should see the round flat battery find a replacement and u should be good change them out carefully
