You have to go to the the mailbox and go through the news paper until you can find someone selling them. or if you have diamonds you can buy it or you can unlock the tool boxes when they appear in the property

I cut down every tree and I have a load of space but when I try to build an item it says not enough space here and there is nothing in the way

Tom is the best way to find stuff like this, but he only comes 4 or 5 times... if you find someone with a lot of products in his farm, follow him so he become your friend, and you can buy there everytime you want!

Cutting down all of the original trees at once allows foxes and frogs to over run your farm. Only cut then down when you have to in order to place something you have bought. You can't place things too close to the edge of the farm, because that land is not part of your farm. Move the item about until it is no longer red, then leave it there. Axes are rewards for harvesting crops or animal products. If your trees are ones you have planted and it dies, you can have another player water it once to revive it by dragging the exclamation mark to the base of the tree. This lets other players see it needs watering. After you have harvested from it one last time, cut it down with a saw. Cutting it down earns you stars. Don't hoard masses of dead trees like some players do!
