Loading crates on boat

So you know there are going to be crates for syrup. If you premanufacture 6 and the crates ask for 4 it takes all of your syrup in the first crate. Does anybody else have this problem or is there a way to alter the amount you put into the crates?

If you are saying that the crate asks for 4 but 6 are removed from your Barn then you are mistaken or this is a bug. This has not happened to me in the game.
