What does the lamp mean

A lamp over the head of a character means they're sad and in need of having a retail shop moved closer to their house. When you go to buy new shops you'll ntoice symbols next to the shops. Burgers are for food stands like the fruit sand or cheese shop. A bat and ball is for the arcade games like the Lucky Spin. And a lamp is for a retail shop like the glasses store or bazaar. Rearrange things so anyone of your shops like the glasses store is closer to that house. It doesn't have to be right next to it but houses shouldn't be at one end and shops at the other. If you have pirates already then move the bazaar near their cabin if it's one of them who is asking to be closer to a shop. Tapping the character will bring up Billy explaining what it is they need when you don't see the shop symbol or head silhouette over someone's head.

The lamp means that character wants a store near him that has home goods like the bazaar for example. there are three diff. kinds of shops: games (symbolized with a bat and ball), home goods (symbolized with a lamp) and finally food (this is symbolized with a burger). If a villager has either one of these symbols over their head it means they want a store that sells that item (games, home goods, or food) put closer to their home. You can check what kind of shop each one is by just touching it and looking at the top right of the screen. The burger is green, the lamp is orange and the bat and ball is blue.
