How do you get gold medals, competing what dragons

I think that you use the type of dragon that matches the flag that is around it. but don't use the exact starter dragon for that type.i put cold in the ice arena but it gave me silver.i think that the higher the dragon the better and more chance of gems.

Im not completely sure but i think it helps if you start as soon as the flag changes, i've done really good with level 7 dragons starting them at 12 am when the flag changes

I've done some testing and found out lots :) --> put highbred dragons of the same element in but not any of the opposite element (eg: sandstorm in air competition.) when i put air + flag element highbreds in it nearly always gets gold (eg: sonic in lightning comp. willow in plant comp.) some other highbreds work better for me like the ice in cold comp or lava in fire comp if their above lvl 7 most likely to get gold try others dragons for other elements and post what gets you gold

I agree with warriorcat's answer, i tried using hybrid dragons and regulars actually. the hybrids worked most of the time, but the normal ones worked too, as long as they were level 7 or over. there is only 1 dragon i have that broke that rule though...

To have a gold metal you must have the proper dragon even if it's have of that type and have an other type ( by breeding) but you also need to go on exactly 24 hours after you start the closer to the time the bight rank you'll have bronze silver gold

2. do hybrid dragons eg. if the flag had plant sign on it you could do a poison dragon.
3. the higher the level the higher the chances.
4. when you put your dragons in the colleseum try and get it bang on 24 hours the closest it is the more gold medals you can win.
5. the happier your dragons are can also make a difference.

How to get gold trophies:

Fire: lvl10 Lava Dragon
Earth: lvl10 Quake Dragon
Water: lvl10 Seaweed Dragon
Lightning: lvl10 Scorch Dragon
Plant: lvl10 Tree Dragon
Metal: lvl10 Brass Dragon
Cold & Air didn't know yet.

I found that higher level dragons work best. This is just a thought but I think it has something to do with what level you are in relation to how good the dragon is eg. If you have only just been able to get the colluseeum ( soz I can't spell ) you probably wont have some of the higher level dragons like the metal dragon and it's hybrids therefore in a plant event ( just as an example ) a poison dragon may well get you gold. However if you are say on level 19 you would probably have higher level dragons so , as you have them , they would probably get you a better award than a dragon you got in level 2. Finaly I think hybrids are better than basic dragons.

Have a level 10 dragon. If you go to the market you'll see that if you go to eggs there will be flags lightning, fire, earth, metal, cold, water or air under the dragon and use the dragon that has the first flag element of the habitat you want to compete in. I'll give u the answers (but maybe not the first time you will win a gold medal) For fire use flower (fire, plant) cold use mountain (cold, earth)Earth, quake (earth, lightning)Air, Sonic(air, lightning)Lightning, crystal (lightning, earth) Water, quicksilver(Water, metal) Metal, rust(metal, water) plant, tree (plant, earth) this is how I got my gold medals I really hope this helps every body:-)

For the air event you use a Willow dragon. I hope you get a gold medal!
