What exactly does the hibernation cave do? is it just a storage space for dragons or something?

Yes it does store dragons if you dont have enough space.

No it does not it stores dragons and then gets them tk level 10 after a bit then u can trade them in for either the special season dragon ( love ), moon, sun or evan a rainbow dragon but u canknly do this once so that u can't just have a hole lot of rainbow dragons on ure islands
