Real Estate friend- helping is waste

I ended up wasting time doing that commercial and getting the friend his house. He later says he wants to hang out at club coco. I get there and he owed $800 dollars or maybe $400. I paid it, then he gets kicked out and I told him to get a job. He's a deadbeat and the commercial doesn't get you fans or anything really. Just letting you all know- it's a waste of time. I thought helping a friend would be good- being level headed or something might help later or who knows if I'll need their help later, etc. but so far helping friends has done nothing for me but waste time that I could be using to make movies etc. The Tony reality show one was the only interesting one. And nothing even came from that. I'm low level 17. Been #1 for a few levels... anyone find that helping old friends is a good thing?
