Can't trigger Max
So I've been browsing through the question & answers, and I'm stumped. I picked spooky basement, although the call hasn't come yet (still waiting... it's been a day and a half or so... seems a while), I met Sofia, she blah blah'd about how I ruined her life, I encouraged her to move to Canada. I went to Max's office, but the receptionist still says Max won't take me. I JUST barely made the B list, is that why? If so, why was I offered the movie and this scene popped up? I'm worried because so many people said once they made A list, they couldn't talk to the receptionist at all. Do I need to film the spooky basement first?

I don't know why yours is like this but no you don't need to film the movie to get max. For me I was a list when I ran into my rival and i got max right after meeting rival. I heard some people get Max by so many ways like picking son of ninja or convincing him. I have restarted stardom many times trying to trigger those but only way I got max was by spooky basement.

Weird. Prob 2 days ago I ran into my rivial but I didn't get max( I was on the b list then) I just made the a list and went into bling bling and got him.

You should see your rival sometime after the award ceremony (once you've been nominated). But I'm assuming you have to be on the A list for Max to accept you. I met my rival the same day I got on the A list (yesterday). Level may have something to do with it too, I don't know.

I got A list and I got nominated. I never met my rival. She won the award instead of me though. Is that why I can't trigger Max as well?
