To get more coins without paying all you have to do is wait until you see a yellow coin sign above your pets then click it.

When it says to play and Install (for example) Farm Story. Do it. It wont show the reward instantly, but once u install and play it and u go back to Pet Shop Story or any Team Lava Games, It will simply ask u to visit a neighbour or buy any decoration and once u've done that, you will simply earn gems and coins. Works for me. GOOD LUCK

I reset my date and time to get more coins and now my game is under construction, everything is under construction and they are saying I must pay between 1 and 5 gems each to unlock them or I can wait up to 24 hours. So I DO NOT SUGGEST you change the time / date in an attempt to get more coins. Big waste of game time - NOT HAPPY
