Help please on level 5 - how does he swing on rope?

How does Lep grab a rope? I try but he ends up just jumping off the ledge but not catching a rope! World 5-2

You jump close to the target and then it will look as if you can select it. Once that happens you push the jump button again to hook on, remember you are in the air at this point.
