How do I get the key to unlock the gate ?

When you step on the platform, you'll notice a fireball begins to shoot out. You have to time just right hitting the buttons so that columns shift up and down and the fireball makes it all the way through to the other side to hit the big button. I actually started practicing doing this, and in practicing i managed to time it just right.
