I KNOW WHAT YOU BEEN HAPENING LOL ! -v- :3 heres the answer ( xD i do this to my friends just about 1 week ago , to fool him , muahahah)

: 64 dirt , 64 invinsible block , 64 torch :p

first, made a line up of dirt, and put a torch at the end, then , destroy all other dirt other than the one the torch attached , use invinsible block ( i dont know how you get this, but if you play pe, you can get it easily by using inventory maker ( dont know the real app name , all i remember is that ) ) and wlala :p you found ur self a torch flying :p

this will be the scenary : ( t = torch )

Well maybe those FLOATING torches were up against nothing, you know that in minecraft PE you have limited land. That walls that keeps you trap is the wall of nothing. You can put torches against that wall though.
