Calling a tile when thrown during hot wall for Mahjong
Sue had 8 dots exposed with one of the tiles a joker. It was during the hot wall when you can call only for Mahjong. Another player threw out an 8 dot, Sue called it for Mahjong and exchanged her joker from exposed tiles and used it in her hand. She called Mahjong. Is that allowed?
Answer from: Jilberta
Since this is a "table rule," the answer depends on consensus among your players. In my group, it would be "no" because you can only call for a tile if it is immediately exposed and makes Mahjong. But your group makes its own table rules. This is not a rule of the NMJC, which does not mention any treatment of a "hot wall" except as a signal that the game is near its end.
