Glitch cutting trees
My trees aren't getting cut down. The boats go across the lagoon on one island and the people get out and run somewhere. However the trees I requested to be cut down are on a different island. Thus nothing gets cut down. What do I do?

Distribute your houses among the islands. At first I did a mistake by moving all my houses to one island and merchants to other. But I see little ppl running around at same place but not reaching the tree. Now I distributed house among my islands and work is done. Hope this answer helped
P.S. I am at level 10 and unlocked only 3 islands. Friends of upper levels might have better tricks and tips
