I have completed the map on The SECRETS OF THE GOLDEN HINT... how to finish it. The chest is there but when i tap on it nothing happens?

Tap on hammer in lower right corner. Then tap on "Ships". If you have completed the task you will see the Golden Hind as a free ship.

After getting the Golden Hind I came back to the game and it isn't working. When I tap a merchant or house it shows the amount and says collect in 370 or 371 days. The lines that show the progress of the boats and the explorers stretch all the way across the screen and if you tap on them it says the same thing. Why would it be doing this? I have spent a lot of time and money (for Rubys, pearls and coins) and don't want to start the game over. If someone can help I would appreciate it. Thank yoo
