How to work out the scoring

How shoes the scoring work sometimes 1000 points for 21 cards in a row and sometimes only 60 points for 34 cards in a row. there seems to Benoit rhyme or reason to it .

You can only get the 1000 GB on a hole once. Look at the flag in the upper right corner. If the flag has 1000 written on it then you can get the 1000 GB on that hole if you hit a great shot of enough cards. I you already got 1000 GB on that hole, then the flag won't have the 1000 written on it.
