Can't get my utility irons

I bought the gold irons 52 I show a number five but how do I get them to populate my bag

I had to go back to the opening screen (where you switch players) then re-enter a course. At that point I opened the buy irons menu and hit 'fill bag' at the bottom under 'Midas touch'. At that point my bag filled with gold irons and the purple indicator read a number lower.
