Great shot without diamonds

Love the latest additions, but cannot figure out how to hit a long great shot without any diamonds or spades. It means I can't get 75% off the next game. Is anyone else finding this difficult? Or has solved this?

When you start playing remove as many diamonds as possible. Even if it means missing a pay. You will be left with the other suits to play with freely
