Backflips in caves

In Eagle Bluffs, how do I do a backflip in a cave? I thought the cave is the area through the mountain with icicles hanging down, but I've done several backflips there and they haven't counted towards the goal of 10. Am I missing something?

You need to land them without falling. Try the caves that are very steep, it's easier to land on a slope.
