Question & Answers
Addition and Gift? Fatal Blow and Smite?
What is the difference between the addition and gift properties. The game doesn't give a very good description. Same thing for Fatal Blow and Smite, what's the difference?
Answer from: MissxSavage
I know that smite and fatal blow are basically the same (they are just random super strong attacks). The addition properties (attack, HP, defense etc.) enhance those attributes according the level of the addition, which is random through synthesis. I haven't gotten far enough on the map to figure out the gift properties.

Addition properties add a set amount of a skill to your ability. If you have 100 atk on a pet and you pick up atk addition level 5, you get 50 more attack. If you pick up atk gift you get 5% more, which would only be 5 more attack. At the lower levels, atk addition would be the definite way to go. At higher levels, say 2000 atk, you still only get 50 atk from level 5 addition, but you'd get 100 atk from gift. Once your pets hit generation 13, you definitely want to have the addition AND the gift of whatever attack your pet is strongest in.
Similarly, Smite adds a fixed amount of damage to all your attacks, while Fatal Blow multiplies your damage by a percentage. In early stages, smite will out-perform fatal blow, but once you get mind reader (map 17) fatal blow is DEFINITELY the way to go.
