Small magazine stand
Has anyone been able to open the small round magazine stand or the subway?

No you cannot activate or use the stand or subway. You can only use the long skinny magazine Station with is located around the location circle.

I was wondering the same thing! Maybe you can activate those in a later stage? For now, you can search those large magazine stands in each area.

I can't activate it, and I'm on Level 59. It is very deceiving looking.
