Larger Custom Ships
I designed a ship but it's way to big yet a lot of big ships you can buy don't look much larger than this. Do you unlock more space to build with and If so, how?

Certain objects took up more space then others. I toned down my space from 98% to 93% by replacing many hull with Funnel A/B.

I think you can place more blocks on the side for free or pay for the better armored blocks. some blocks are armored but free.

No. You can't. One block is one 'space'. One weapon is one 'space'. One boiler is also one 'space'. That means, try to build with the 2x2x2 blocks of hull to get a bigger ship. 8 of the 1x1x1 blocks takes up, 8 'spaces'. However, the huge 2x2x2 block only takes up 1 'space'.

Yes you can, actually. The thing is that the ship ends up being painfully slow
