Movable Submarine?
Hi guys, I made a submarine today and it works fine, other then it only goes up and down, so can somebody tell me if it is possible to make a sub that can move under the water? Or can it just submerge and rise back up?
Answer from: samedude
Well u should put propellers at the back also so instead of going up and down u can move back and forth

As of yet it is impossible to make a submarine. The physics for the game haven't been worked out fully even though parts have been added that would suggest otherwise. Your best bet to use underwater torpedo tubes (or other torpedo tubes) is to make a fast ship that is nearly impossible to sink. I believe the depth charges are more for appearance than function.

All you have to do is attach propellers to the top of the craft so it goes downward, I call it Downthrusting. Then balance the downward and forward thrust until it moves straight It works great for me

I made fully functional submarine that with little maneuver can stay underwater indefinitely, but since the remove both the speed glitch and underwater engines it's quite impossible now

When I made a submarine all I did wuz get a 200mm lite weir armor skeleton take off the top layer add propellers in groups of four at the bottom two spaces apart but don't add any boilers and full throttle will just barely keep u underwater enough to we're the ships can't shoot you, and should probably use underwater torpedo launcher

Make a submarine, put a long stick upward and some/one weapon on top. The AI thinks it's a ship nearly sunk with full health. [MAKE SURE THE STICK DOES NOT SINK!!!]. This way you have the style of the submarine and the pipe that sticks up for seeing (Not sure what the name if this is.) like the submarines we have today!

In my opinion a submerged vessel is not viable this early in the game. I battled on in multiplayer and it luached it's torpedoes but when it got close I sunk it with my depth charge. I think it would not be a viable weapon platform until the intrduction of underwater luached surface-to-surface missiles.

Subs work great!! Mine stays underwater indefinitely, and in response to depth charges it's not that hard to outmanouver ships as long as your sub moves, which is easily accomplished by propellors.
