Question & Answers

Submarine/ Aircraft Carrier

I have a small submarine that carries aircraft on the top of the deck. However, I've seen several that carry them inside the sub itself. Is there a way to do this where the aircraft actually function, as I've tried and failed in this many times. (Hence the above-deck setup)

It's not possible to make a carrier/sub because you would not be able to go under water or you would destroy you planes

Not completely a good idea to rise when the planes return

I did half battle/carrier with 3 (4 coming soon) 46 cm guns (all can shoot forward), secondaries and AA, 20 tbf avengers, 8 f4f wildcats, and a single sbd dauntless and 2 runways so the fighters can be launched separately and kill enemy bombers, not to mention the range finder, recon plane, 2 oxygen torpedo mounts, and 58 knot top speed. :) It's a real beastie. Anyho, this combo makes more sense as it can be affective my used in most situations. I've considered a sub/carrier combo, but this makes no sense. A battleship operates at mid range, and a carrier at long, ergo, the ranges match up well. But a sub carrier combo combines short range and long range, and you can't operate both weapon systems at the same time. This is also why a battleship sub combo can make sense since it combines close and mid ranges. Also, look at history. Battleship carrier combos were common in Ww1 and the interwar period since governments were reluctant to build dedicated carriers. They worked fairly well. In Ww2, Japan tested a sub/carrier combo that launched a single Betty bomber. To the best of my knowledge, this was somewhat ineffective. Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth. But keep trying new stuff and pick what works best for you. For a sub, I suggest gas drives, 4 under water torpedo launchers, and 2 or 3 oxygen turrets on top. Damage their boilers and main guns while under water, then surface at point blank and fire an oxygen torpedo salvo.
