Avoiding dive bombers
How can i avoid those pesky dive bombers?

They are hard to avoid but the best option is to build a ship with a toughness of 4000 or above and torpedos from torpedo bombers will barely put a dint in your ship

The bane of dive bombers are mk5 45inch guns. or speed. TONS OF SPEED. 160+knots should do but also active dodging should do as well. zoom out to the max and look for them coming at you. you should be able to get the carrier in your range.

One way is to add anti aircraft weapons up high or make a 600 mm light weight armor shield over your ship

When the those bombers come and they'll come no matter what. Its best to deal with them alone. With a mk5 45inch gun or anti-aircraft weapons. A armor ceiling will work too.

One little known fact: bombers fly at ~575-600m just before they dive. If you're desperate to shoot them down before they attack, try building a pillar up about that high and mounting a few (maybe 10) AT/AA's up there. It may look derpy and make all but the largest ships tip over, but its relatively cheap and effective for the # of guns. Oh and you'll get at least 90km view range ;)

What im thinking here is that you sort of make an "umbrella" made of floats on top of your ship. As long as your float umbrella is not too low over the ship, the bombs will land on it, protecting your ship and leaving it undamaged.
